On 11th February HCS hosted two student sessions for 150 Year 11 and Year 12 students, from a dozen local independent and state schools, about applying for a place at Oxford or Cambridge. The presentations were led by recent and current undergraduates from Oxford and Cambridge and included plenty of opportunity for questions which were thoroughly answered.
In parallel, a session for Staff was held, which covered similar ground aimed at Heads of Sixth and updated them on the Admissions process to help them advise their students most topically. This was the eleventh year that HCS has hosted such sessions, with excellent feedback from the students and staff.
Emma-Kate Henry, Principal of HCS, said: “It was heartening to see so many students from such a wide range of schools so enthusiastic about choosing their courses, completing their UCAS forms, preparing for their Oxbridge interviews and potentially receiving their offer letters from their chosen Colleges.”
