Life-size Artwork

We caught up with Annie, a Year 13 boarder, who is studying A level Art, to talk about her life-size artwork.

Annie is currently doing a project about Shakespeare and the drawing is a costume design for Ariel from ‘The Tempest’.

“This is my design for the ‘happy version’ of Ariel entitled ‘The Harpy’, explained Annie.“The DT department put up the paper for me and I started the work a week before Christmas.”

“I love being at HCS. Being a boarder has meant I can work on the drawing in the evening and at weekends. The work has been done in black biro. Lots of black pens, have a purple or blue tinge, the one I am using is which is a grey colour, bought from ‘Muji’; I have used three of them so far!” said Annie.

Annie’s passion is costume design and when she finishes her A levels, Annie is hoping to take a foundation diploma in performance design at Central St Martins in London, although she has already secured a place at Bournemouth Arts University.
