Callum’s Dressage Success

A report by Callum, Year 11, who competed in Prelim 14 and Prelim 7 on his horse Ronnie, at the New Forest Riding Club’s Autumn Dressage Comp held at Woodington during half-term.

“At the competition there was a lot of torrential rain, although luckily when I went in to do my tests it was sunny but the warm up arena was very soggy. Ronnie was a very well behaved boy for the first test (even though I went wrong as the test was called wrong) but we were still placed third with 67.11%. We were told we are a ‘beautiful combination’ which is very pleasing.

The second test wasn’t as good as Ronnie thought he had finished just after the first test two hours before so didn’t want to go as well, deciding he was scared of the judge’s box which he had already walked past in the previous test, but luckily we were still placed sixth.”
