Two Courses in Two Hours!

Pupils took part in the grand final of the HCS House MasterChef competition.

Two students from each House had progressed from the heat the week before (where they were tasked to show off their culinary skills by making risotto). Each finalist was given a budget of £20 to create a two course meal for four that had to be cooked in just two hours.

The finalists were William and Lorcan from Austen, Natalia and Holly from Chichester, Millie  and Mollie from Nightingale and Tristan and Daisy from Palmerston. With the added pressure of parents wandering round and asking questions during their Open Day visits the students produced an amazing range of dishes that would put most cooks to shame.

The judging was willingly performed by the Principal and Deputy Heads but they had a difficult time choosing which was their favourite and on more than one occasion more than one helping was eaten! After much deliberation the overall winner was Daisy from Palmerston with her menu of Chicken Kiev and New York Cheesecake.
