This week Year 4 visited the Mary Rose Museum, at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. They took part in some challenging maths activities – discovering what pi was (3.14) and how to calculate the diameter of a shot fired by a canon, as well as working out capacities for tankards used by the sailors.

On Wednesday the Rugby U16s 7s travelled to KES to take part in the Hampshire 7s. We are delighted that the boys performance improved as the tournament progressed and at the end of the day where crowned Hampshire Plate winners, after winning 35-5 in the final.

Congratulations to the HCS senior golf team who have won the Independent School Golf Association (ISGA) South West Regional competition. The team played Truro School at Exeter golf club and won 2 1/2 - 1/2.

The Flute Choir from Hampshire Collegiate School performed at the Southampton Music Festival last week and was commended by the adjudicator on the performance. This was the first time that an instrumental group from the school has taken part in the festival.

Thirty pupils from Years 6 & 7 enjoyed a fantastic day at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Romsey on Tuesday with the opportunity to work with internationally acclaimed willow artist Tom Hare.
