HCS has one football team that plays during the Senior games’ afternoons. Years 11, 12 and 13 boys have the opportunity to represent HCS in the Hampshire Colleges U18 football league and cup, on a Wednesday afternoon during the first two terms of the academic year. This season will generally consist of approximately 18 fixtures.

Football is a relatively new and growing sport at HCS; the school team was only entered into its first competition in the 2010-2011season. Nevertheless, we have already been in a cup final and regularly finish in the top half of the league.

The boys that take part are encouraged to play attractive passing football, whilst developing their key skills and tactical knowledge through their training sessions each week. The players are challenged to lead by example throughout the season, and take huge pride in wearing the HCS jersey. Players are encouraged to apply for team captaincy and the successful candidate is then challenged with a number of key roles in maintaining and progressing the high standards we expect from our players.
