Netball at HCS is an evolving sport where the girls are expected to improve their strategic awareness of the game in addition to their physical dynamism, right from Year 7. Many of our girls were inspired by the international stars coaching week held at HCS, during which they attended an extensive coaching workshop delivered by England centre Serena Guthrie.  We are represented in the England netball development pathway at the county satellite academies and have strong links with high level clubs such as Swan Netball Club and Weston Park Netball Club.

All pupils will participate in a 2 hour games session within the weekly timetable, where there is a strong emphasis on skill development, fitness for netball as well as learning how to work as part of a team. There is also an additional option of a team training activity as part of their after school programme, with the aim of improving team performance within a highly competitive environment. A full and extensive fixture list is also played throughout the term, where pupils will test their skills against local and regional opposition. In order to develop the sport and provide as many opportunities for the girls to participate as possible, HCS are proud to continue to organise and host annual tournaments in a variety of age groups. We are working hard to improve the standard of all our age groups, with teams entering national schools tournaments across the year groups.
