Situation Update Swine Flu (A(H1N1) influenza.
The school has been informed that four of our pupils have been in close contact with confirmed cases of swine flu; these four pupils are not in school today. Although we have no confirmed cases in school today, it is now possible that we do have a small number of infected and infectious pupils at HCS.
If you child presents with flu symptoms then please:
• Do not send your child to school.
• Phone school (01794 512206) or e mail school (info@hampshirecs.org.uk) to report your child’s absence.
• Phone ‘NHS DIRECT’: 0800 1 513 513 for advice, guidance and a diagnosis. Where appropriate a voucher number will be issued for the receipt of anti viral drugs. If you still think your child may have swine flu, call your local GP – you are asked not to go to the GP’s surgery.
Flu symptoms can include: fever, cough, headache, weakness and fatigue, aching muscles and joints, sore throat, runny nose. Further information from the NHS can be found at: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Swineflu
If your child is unfortunate to contract swine flu during the summer holidays, we would be grateful if you would report this to school. This will enable us to send data to the HPA for it to compile regional statistics on the spread of this infection. Thank you.
