A Hampshire Collegiate School pupil has completed a 20 mile cycle ride and has raised over £400 for charity.
Jack from Whiteparish undertook the challenge accompanied by his father, Ray. Their route took them through Redlynch, Downton and Britford to Salisbury (12 miles) and back via Alderbury and Whaddon (8 miles). So far Jack has raised over £400 for Cancer Research.
Jack explained how the idea for the ride came about. “I wanted a personal challenge and to raise money for charity. I decided to choose Cancer Research as my auntie has been fighting a battle with breast cancer. I love riding my bike and it was exciting to cycle such a long way. I found training hard, as the weather was so bad over Christmas, but I used Dean Hill as my hill training route which prepared me for Pepperbox Hill.
Jack enjoyed the day and was very proud of his achievement; he is looking forward to undertaking more challenges in the future.
“Jack undertook both the training, and the ride, with a lot of energy and enthusiasm and we are very proud of his efforts”, said his father Ray.
