Over 120 gifted and talented pupils from twenty schools around the south attended an Oxbridge meeting at Hampshire Collegiate School last week.
Special guest speakers were Dr Tony Badger, Master of Clare College Cambridge, and Dr Richard Little, the Admissions Manager from Oxford University, who came with two teams to inform and inspire the students.
Year 12 pupil Jordan Cousins from Arnwood School in the New Forest said: “The day has been really useful and I have learned about the process of getting in to University. It has dispelled myths and reassured me.”
HCS pupil Rosie Day, who is hoping to apply to Cambridge University to study English or Psychology said: “The day was a very positive experience, I am really excited about applying.”
Hampshire Collegiate School Principal Hector MacDonald said: “This year’s Oxbridge meeting was a huge success. Helping aspiring students in their quest for great university experiences is central to our work at HCS, and hosting such an important and helpful meeting very rewarding for us all. The energy shown throughout the day was wonderful to witness”.
