Hampshire Collegiate School held an event to celebrate the re-naming and opening of their new 48-week per year Early Years provision.
The renamed ‘Nightingale Nursery’ was officially opened by the Mayor of Test Valley, as part of the events in 2010, which mark the centenary of the death of Florence Nightingale. After a blessing by Reverend George Biggs of St Margaret’s Church, West Wellow, every pupil in the Prep School released a purple balloon in a balloon race and everyone enjoyed a piece of celebratory cake.
Principal Hector MacDonald said: “Having consistency of ultra-high quality staff over a 48-week time period will make our service to the community fantastic!”
Other guests at the event included the Mayoress of Test Valley, the Deputy Mayor of Romsey and local MP Caroline Nokes.
