Pupils from Hampshire Collegiate School were pleased to welcome Jenny Clarke, founder of the charity Woofability, and her dog Monty to their school assembly recently. Members of the Prep School Council presented Jenny with a cheque for £648 which had been raised by pupils (and parents!) by donating their loose change and holding cake sales.
Woofability trains puppies to assist disabled people with daily tasks such as dressing and undressing, helping with the laundry and picking up things that have been dropped. The money raised by the pupils at HCS will help to train another puppy.
Woofabilty are a locally based organisation training assistance dogs for disabled people in Dorset, Hampshire and South Wiltshire.
Jenny Clarke said: “It is fantastic that the children have raised this money to train another dog, which will help to transform the life of another disabled person in the Romsey area.”
