Pupils Raise Over

Pupils from Hampshire Collegiate School raised £615.26 for BBC Children in Need last week, with a number of innovative fundraising initiatives.

Mr Hillier (from the English Department) bravely volunteered to have either half his beard shaved or to keep a very fetching a handle-bar moustache for the day. Pupils voted unanimously for ‘half a beard’ and watched the procedure during break time. This raised over £100.

At lunchtime a ‘Penny Snake’ was run by Year 13 House Captains, with some impressive results. The house with the longest ‘snake’ was Austen with 51.73 metres of pennies, second was Chichester with 48.5 metres, third was Palmerston with 38.23 and Nightingale were fourth with 18.34. This raised £99.06 - that’s a lot of pennies to count!

A further £414.00 was made from pupils wearing their ‘Home clothes for the day and paying £1 for the privilege.
