Pupils from Hampshire Collegiate School have launched a cookbook to raise money for a charity trip to Honduras. Pupils, parents and members of the school community have put forward their favourite recipes for the first ever HCS recipe book, which is packed full of delicious starters, main courses and puddings.
A group of 14 pupils in Years 11-13, will be travelling to Honduras in July, 2011 to work with the charity ‘Operation Wallacea’. This charity is involved in conservation and biodiversity projects all over the world. Their aim is to help local people manage and sustain their local environment. Much of the help is given to farmers who provide the West with products such as coffee, cocoa, tea and wood. It is hoped that by educating them in the importance of the rainforest, and the unique plant and animal life they support, that they will stop large scale forest clearing and work with the resources around them.
