HCS Victorious in Hampshire Plate Final

The HCS forwards dominated the opening period with dazzling displays of footwork and speed. A 12-0 lead was handy as half-time approached, but HCS had one more score up their sleeve which gave HCS a commanding 19 point advantage going into half time. Although the HCS line-out was not firing on all cylinders, their scrum was and HCS managed to retain possession throughout the game. Ferocious tackles ensured that HCS had an impenetrable defence, while forwards made sure that they were always making ground. In the second half, HCS managed to pile on the points. With the last play of the game Farnborough managed to get a consolation try through valiant efforts of the Farnborough forwards. The final score was 52-7! HCS Captain Oli said: “Getting to the final has been tough, but we managed to win. This is the first time in the school’s history that we have won the Hampshire Plate.”
