HCS Celebrate World Book Day

Once again, the children in the Prep School celebrated World Book Day in style. The hall was packed with interesting characters including: the Ugly Sisters, the Mad Hatter and Alice, James Bond, several beautiful princesses, an amazing Smurf, members of Hogwarts and a vast array of Wallys! A group of Year 6 children led an assembly about the wonderful world of books and there was a parade of all the fantastic costumes.
Many thanks, once again, to all the parents for supporting this event; the costumes get better and better each year!

and in the Senior School...
An eerie silence descended over the Senior School at 12.00 on Thursday 03 March, as the whole school stopped what they were doing and picked up a book to mark World Book Day. In physics lessons, students and teachers read about new plastics conducting electricity, asteroids narrowly missing the earth and how high it is possible for heels to be, while in English, students read Shakespeare and short stories. All got involved, from the Principal to the support staff. It was a very relaxing and productive interlude, leaving us all wondering whether we should do this more often!
