Year 7 pupils were delighted to receive a free book each during their library lesson this week, as part of a national programme aimed at encouraging reading for pleasure.
Mrs Cunliffe, Senior School Librarian said: ‘It was really nice to see the enthusiasm and enjoyment of the pupils involved in the reading programme.’
The Senior School Library is open from 8.00 am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for an ‘Early Bird Reading Club’ – pupils are welcome to use the library at this time. Daily newspapers and magazines are also available and they can have access to the library ICT suite.
Booked Up is the national programme aimed at encouraging reading – run by Booktrust. www.bookedup.org.uk - for more details.
