2010 marks the centenary of the passing of Florence Nightingale. Hampshire Collegiate School will be part of a series of nationwide events to mark this occasion.

2010 events will include:

Wed 17 March Nightingale Society Lecture 7.00pm to be delivered by Professor Lynn McDonald (Professor Emeritus, University of Guelph, Ontario), editor of Florence Nightingale’s collected works.

Sat 08 May Parish Concert The first of two military band concerts (in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund and St Margaret’s Church,Wellow). Venue: Hampshire Collegiate School.

Sun 09 May HCS Open House and Gardens 12 noon - 4.00pm
Enjoy afternoon tea and a tour of Florence’s childhood home in the beautiful grounds of Embley Park. Venue: Hampshire Collegiate School. Admission £5 per person. No prior booking required.

Tues 13 July Romsey Counterpoint Singers 7.30pm  - SOLD OUT

A musical evening set in the Embley manor house with appropriate pieces celebrating the Nightingale connection. Venue: Hampshire Collegiate School. Tickets £10 per person to include wine and cheese.

1820-1910.’ A major international conference with speakers/writers drawn from the UK and the United States. Delegate fees apply.
