HCS have had 2 works selected for the Royal Academy A level on-line Exhibition since its inauguration in 2007. There were over 1000 entries, nationally, last year. Of these, some 70 works, only, were selected. HCS students were awarded a Gold and a Silver Certificate. The on-line exhibition runs parallel to the world famous Summer exhibition. One of these images from HCS has been selected by the editor of Secondary Teacher, with a circulation of over 330,000 to illustrate an article promoting the Royal Academy exhibition.

A student from HCS won British Home Stores National T- shirt Design competition. The design was put into production and sold in BHS stores.

This year students have had guest speakers from the Hampshire Guild of Embroiderers and a professional book illustrator, showing, and talking about, their work.

Gallery visits are organised to important exhibitions.

Every year 6th form students from HCS have been awarded places on the Art and Design Foundation Course at the prestigious Arts University College at Bournemouth.
