Pupils take part in National Safer Internet Day

On Tuesday, the Prep School started National Safer Internet Day with an assembly to introduce the day’s theme of ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect’.

The children then split into groups to carry out a range of activities.

Year 1, 2 and Reception children learnt a song about who to ask for help if they are unsure of what to do on the internet. Year 3 discussed how to be a good friend online and then created ‘Wanted’ posters to try to find the perfect online friend. Year 4 created a jigsaw puzzle on how to create, connect and share respect when using the internet Year 5 used the format of drama to perform an online safety scenario to their peers. Year 6 were tasked with producing posters which explored the idea of showing respect online which encompassed themes of well-being and empathy.

The day was a great success with the children went away with the knowledge of how to create a safer and friendlier internet.
