Boarding

Our Boarding Family

Our Heads of Boarding, Mr Johnathan McCredie and Mrs Isabelle McCredie, live in the Manor House. Along with our boarding tutors, dedicated nurses and matron, our boarders are guided and supported academically and pastorally in a happy, safe and secure home-from-home family environment.

Johnathan and Isabelle have worked at a number of international and boarding schools and joined us in 2017 from Bishopstrow College near Warminster where they were joint Heads of Boarding. During the school day at Hampshire Collegiate School, Johnathan coaches Games and specialises in rugby and cricket, while Isabelle, is an integral part of the EAL team and holds a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification. In 2018, Hannah Dobson joined the team as a boarding tutor from Badminton School.

Our Sixth Form boarders have the opportunity to become boarding prefects and assist with the day-to-day organisation of the boarding house, act as role models to other boarders and support those who are new to the boarding family. They form part of the school’s prefect team, which meets weekly with the Headmaster, and they chair the Boarding Council, which meets with the Heads of Boarding to discuss the ideas and views of boarders in relation to boarding house matters such as rules, food, trips and activities.

To experience boarding at Hampshire Collegiate School for yourself, please get in touch. We’d be delighted to show you around the boarding house or arrange a taster stay. Please email boarding@hampshirecs.org.uk or follow our boarding story on Twitter @HCS_Boarding
