Boarding

Weekend Activities & Adventures

Every weekday evening, our boarders have a full programme of activities, making the most of the school’s facilities and beautiful surrounding and including separate activities for girls and boys. Then, after a full week of study, it’s important that our boarders enjoy some rest and relaxation, although there is always a full programme of activities and trips to enjoy.

Relaxing with friends

Our 130-acre estate makes the school a perfect place for boarders to unwind after a busy week. Students can take a walk in our delightful grounds, enjoy our 9-hole golf course or relax in our covered swimming pool. For the more energetic, there is a sports hall and gymnasium.

Day students often invite their boarding friends out at the weekends. With parental approval, we encourage this because it helps to maintain the excellent interaction that exists between our day students and boarders, and it provides our international boarders with an opportunity to experience family life in England.

We also welcome day students to spend time with their friends in boarding; inviting them on weekend trips or to our boarders’ birthday parties – and even for sleepovers the night before.

Weekend adventures

The school is surrounded by the perfect blend of city, coast and country and it is within easy reach of many places that are steeped in history and academic interest.

Be it a tour around Winchester (England’s ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great) or other places of historical interest such as Stonehenge, Bath or Oxford; an adventure in the New Forest by bike; a fun day on the beach; paint-balling; ice skating; a trip to Harry Potter World; cinema trips; or shopping excursions to Southampton or London’s Oxford Street – we offer adventures to suit ever boarders’ interests.
