Hampshire Collegiate School has launched its Digital Archive of Remembrance – http://learn.hampshirecs.org.uk/remembrance/. Over the past few months, pupils have been submitting their stories along with photographs and artefacts, telling the accounts of family members affected by war. These individuals and their stories form part of our memorial which will is being publicly shared and preserved for years to come.
This morning, parents, pupils and special guests marked the centenary of the end of the First World War and Revd Wharton from Romsey Abbey conducted our Remembrance Service with poems, stories and contributions from students. Since the Summer term, our pupils and staff have been creating hand-made ceramic poppies. The last of the poppies were planted this morning after the service to complete our Poppy Memorial in the school’s grounds.
Stories will continue to be added to the Digital Archive of Remembrance over coming weeks and we are still accepting new submissions. Pupils should send their stories to email@example.com.
