Before the half term break, we welcomed Digital Awareness UK (a leading online safety company) to the school for a series of pupil, staff and parent workshops. Pupils from Year 1 to Year 12 had tailored workshops for their age groups, covering topics such as stranger danger and being kind for youngest pupils through to bullying, security and managing the digital footprint for the older years.
All those who attended found the sessions hugely informative and beneficial.
One Year 12 student commented: “The representative from Digital Awareness UK taught us specifically about our digital footprint, applying to universities and careers… Social media is a huge influence to our generation and they spoke about how it can affect our appearance to future employers especially.”
A parent comment: “An extremely useful and thought-provoking talk… It was especially helpful to not only hear about all the risks and challenges we have to navigate but also to be reminded what a tremendous opportunity the digital age and the internet provides, when handled and used appropriately.”
