Last week the Nightingale Scholars’ Society had its inaugural Nightingale Lecture. To kick start the series our Headmaster, Mr Canning, spoke about the topic of ‘Knowledge & Knowing’. His interactive lecture was extremely thought provoking and questioned the view of how we see things. “Do we really see shapes, or do we just see rays of light that our mind decides are shapes?” was one of the main questions posed to us.
Afterwards, one scholar commented: “This lecture really made me think truly about the world around us.” I think that the scholars thoroughly enjoyed the lecture and that they are looking forward to many more.
