Sixth Form students enjoyed an engaging lecture from world-record holding polar traveller Alex Hibbert at our most recent Nightingale Lecture. This is part of our series of termly Sixth Form black-tie events which introduce students to the type of formal dining experience they will encounter at university and in business.

Alex is a polar expedition leader, photographer and author. He has skied further than anyone in history on the Arctic. But rather than talk to our students about his successes, Alex gave a fascinating recount of an expedition that didn’t go according to plan and the rich life experiences that he gained from this adventure; making difficult decisions, working with local craftsmen; learning to dogsled and much more – all in extreme conditions.

Students were amazed by Alex’s story and there followed a very interesting question and answer session with students which furthered their understanding of Alex’s adventures.
