Our Art room is a vibrant place where children flourish. We want all our pupils to thoroughly enjoy the creative process and to have confidence in expressing themselves visually. This is achieved by making projects fun and accessible, introducing new concepts and skills and ensuring that each project builds on previous experiences.
Children use a wide range of different media and processes, ranging from painting, collage and textiles to printing, ceramics and sculpture. Our children learn to develop and improve their control of materials, tools and techniques; enabling them to use colour, form, texture, pattern and shape to communicate what they see, feel and think.
We encourage children to experience and study the works of other artists and to learn about and appreciate art from a range of cultures and communities. Our extensive school grounds and woods are regularly used for inspiration. There are opportunities to participate in a variety of co-curricular clubs, ranging from pottery to mosaic making. Children are invited to attend an Art club where they are given opportunities to develop their particular strengths.
