Congratulations to Oliver (Year 3) whose design was shortlisted in the Primary Engineers Leader Award competition. This is a national children’s competition, designed and managed by the Primary Engineers Programme, where children are challenged to answer the question ‘If you were an engineer what would you do?’ with annotated drawings and a letter.
Earlier this year, an engineer visited the Prep School which provided the children with an opportunity to ask lots of questions about his career paths and enabled them to start thinking like an engineer before submitting their entries.
All the designs were viewed and judged by a panel of engineers and teachers. Over 3,700 children in the South entered the competition, of which 77 were shortlisted and 19 winners. The winning projects together with the shortlisted projects – including Oliver’s – form are part of a public display at the Boldrewood Innovation Campus, Southampton University.
