Our Senior School curriculum ensures that we deliver the broadest educational experience. This enables our students to keep the widest range of future options open, as they develop their passion and intellectual curiosity for subjects and serves as a firm foundation from which they go on to make informed choices about the subjects they wish to study at GCSE and beyond.
In Years 7 to 9, English, Mathematics, Science and Modern Foreign Languages are taught in ability sets and all students learn French and Spanish from Year 7.
All students study a core of five GCSE subjects. This comprises English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Combined Sciences (two GCSEs). Students are expected to take a further four ‘optional’ subjects, which can include Separate Sciences and we expect our students select a Modern Foreign Language. Alongside our rich curricular and co-curricular programme, students participate in a weekly Games afternoon, a Physical Education (PE) lesson and a fortnightly Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) lesson as part of their core timetable.
