Art, Craft & Design
Our Art Faculty provides a diverse teaching and learning experience where students express their creative ideas and explore a wide range of materials and techniques in our large, airy and open plan art studio comprising three main teaching areas and integrated Sixth Form pod spaces.
Alongside our extensive traditional fine art provision, we have specialist printmaking, ceramics and textiles facilities, and a computer suite for digital processing and CAD software. We have two installation spaces that enable our younger students to observe how larger artworks are created over time. Our 3D design studios provide a fully equipped workshop including equipment for wood, metal, vacuum forming, soldering, welding and casting; and a second computer suite.
From Year 7, our students enjoy weekly subject lessons in our studios and workshops where they are introduced to many media, processes, techniques, styles and technologies. We nurture our emerging artists and designers, preparing them for a self-sustaining creative future in any field.
Art is a popular choice for our students at GCSE and our students can choose between GCSE Art, Craft & Design, Textiles, Photography and 3D Design.
