Pupils across the school came together last week to celebrate World Book Day. At the Prep School, this year’s event was linked to the American author Dr Seuss.

Also known as Theodor Seuss Geisel, he is famous for writing and illustrating more than 60 books; popular titles include Cat in the Hat, Fox in Socks, Lorax… the list goes on.

Mrs Speirs led an informative assembly linked to Dr Seuss which was followed by a costume parade and a House competition. Pupils then returned to classes for more Dr Seuss themed activities.

Dr Seuss is known for some of his memorable quotes, this must be one of the best, not only a great quote, but a powerful reminder of the importance of reading: “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
